Happy New Year, reader! I hope the holidays were restful and that the start of the year brings you even closer to your dreams.
Towards the end of last year, I decided to plan out my 2023 travels. I had been talking to my friends about how the year is not looking travel-heavy until I drew up a spreadsheet (I love spreadsheets). Come to find out, there are only ~4.5 months in my calendar without travel. I’m excited though, as I often am, for the adventure, and the opportunity to paint new memories wherever I go.
Here are some of the destinations I am planning to visit in 2023, by God’s grace:
Spring: Barcelona, Paris, Malta
Summer: Disney World (one of my favorite places in the world), Lisbon, Banff
Fall: Mexico, The Caribbean Islands (I am not sure which one to choose, but St. Lucia is a strong contender)
Winter: Lagos and Calabar
Are you excited about any travel plans this year? I would love to hear from you. Maybe we’ll end up in the same place at the same time.

In Exciting News: I am launching my first digital product
10 days from today, on January 30 (my last day at my job as a public health researcher), I will be launching my first digital product:
The Same Footprints Guide
A curated travel guide with personal recommendations for things to do, places to stay, eat and drink, and expert tips from my personal experiences. I designed the Same Footprints Guide to ease the stress of trip planning and spark inspiration (and excitement) for your next memorable adventure!
Maybe you’ve already booked a flight, but you’re struggling with planning an itinerary; maybe you’re curious about a destination but unsure of what you would do there to enjoy yourself; maybe you’re the friend who likes to book your ticket and show up, leaving the planning to anybody else. If any of these resonated, I’m creating this guide for you.
When you’re ready to request a guide, you’ll be able to fill out a form, choose from a list of 20 cities (all of which I have either visited or lived in), and share some of your dealbreakers with me. If you don’t eat raw fish, I won’t recommend my favorite sushi bar. Within 72hrs of your request, you’ll receive an email with a guide that looks like this:
The Same Footprints Guide to California’s Central Coast
(you can download and save this for your next trip, or share it with a friend)
In the time I have spent conceptualizing, testing, and tweaking, this product has looked like many things, but I am so proud of the version I have now, and I cannot wait till it is out in the world. I hope you’ll enjoy it!
On the Blog:
Coming to samefootprints.com in January and early February: Travel stories from Rome, Florence, and Venice; Parts 5-7 of my T in Transit series.
Until 2022, visiting Italy was little more than a dream, one I loved to dwell in. When I finally visited, the country met and exceeded all my expectations. I ate pizza, pasta, prosciutto, and gelato to my heart’s content, threw a coin in the Trevi Fountain, and strolled through the ruins of the Colosseum, and along the Venetian canals. Italy was bliss, and I can’t wait to share my stories and photos with you.
As always,
thank you for reading!
